(Only they've got the Company ordering them around.) I wonder if these guys were always friends/companions, or if they just bonded after being captured. So Valatos and his teammates.we haven't seen much of them so far, but they're basically in a similar predicament to Elty. I must warn you that, if it was not already obvious, writers who put in characters that are my favorite species are going to get a lot of rambling about said characters from me. So now to comment on these "later" chapters (I'm still so far behind aha). Wonder if Crom's family's bakery sells them? Are we gonna see some pokemon eating donuts? (And I immediately pictured a yanmega with a bunch of donuts on its legs).Īlright. No longer pirates now, but I know they will be again at some point from the drawings of them.īefore I talk about these chapters I'm gonna quote stuff.Ĭlick to expand.I love that Pleo knows what a donut is.

And also I finally get to meet the yanmega, Valatos, and his teammates. And then comes the whole retrieve the journal/mystery dungeon/meet Guardia plot. Elty leading the others around this creepy place and getting them into trouble was greatly entertaining. I love the idea of there being this part of the island that pirates and other shady pokemon just.hang out. Which is great news for Team Traveller, seeing as that will at least delay them a while for the repairs. And they're really just trashing the Company's ships, ahaha. I also enjoyed their escape (with help from Margi) from this island. I understand that to a degree, but I hope we see some more helpful pokemon in the future (not that there hasn't been some already, such as Margi and Maranda, but I'd like to see more of that sort of thing). The impression I'm getting from these islands is that pokemon don't generally seem to help others without expecting some sort of reward. It seemed pretty messed up that no one was going to help them at least get a meal before they had to set off on missions. I felt bad for Nida and pals when they couldn't get any food. And a nice nod to real-life scorpions, too. And there are a lot of bug types, which is of course a huge bonus.Īnd I know it came up in a later chapter, but the drapion daycare worker carrying the little pokemon on her back was the most adorable thing. I love the way you describe this island, it looks really cool in my mind. (But I do wonder.was the heracross that Pleo attacked/made bleed alright? I know he's a company pokemon, but still.) I liked that Pleo's power, while being the main thing that got them out of there, still didn't make it completely easy.

Wasn't sure how they were going to get out of that one. I think the last time I reviewed, I stopped right before the escape from Lyn's ship (I wasn't paying attention to there being a certain amount of chapters in each episode at that point). I liked seeing a bit of Elty during his pirate life, too.īack to the main story. It seemed like such a happy time for the characters I didn't want anything to ruin it (which is a bit odd for me, a person who loves seeing characters get thrown into danger, but there you go). With the whole thing about the pirates coming in, I was honestly afraid the whole night would end in disaster. I have to say, Marley breaking one of Calino's items and then demanding he give her children treats is something straight out of r/entitledparents, haha. I was wishing I could join them as I was reading this! That sounds like such a fun tradition! I love how festive you made the whole thing seem. I loved the details of them designing their own lanterns to go about collecting candy with. The whole thing with Nida and her siblings/friends was super adorable. I have a lot of quotes to comment on this time, but since they're mostly about later chapters in this block, I'll talk about other things first.Īlright. Just finished Chapter 32, which I figured was a good place to stop and write another comment.
